The other day, Max was taking a bath and Abi insisted on jumping in with him and washing his feet.
Max’s doctors say that his recovery is 10% surgery, and 90% physical therapy. So he continues to stretch and heal every day. The miracle is that his grafts have no more open wounds, which means he can do way more stretching at this phase than he could before. His donor sites, which are on his back, still give him grief. But we are grateful for the gracious gifts of life and breath!

  1. Blessings & Shalom to you – Goddard Family! You have no idea who I am, but I am actually going to be starting in your very lower line of people. 🙂 I have been watching many videos featuring Natalie. They have been so inspirational and educational to me. I was googling you today to find MORE videos/articles/etc….when I came upon this news article about your sons accident and how the community around you was planning a fasting and prayer day. This of course was in July, but as I read through the blog you set up for Max (this one) I have cried and choked on emotion that can only be secondary to what you have been through and are still moving through with. I am inspired by your son, your family and your willingness to be authentic with your emotions, fears and great FAITH!!!!

I am Jewish and I love my Abba – my G-d so much. I am a mother of 4 children ages 31 – 8 years old. I am weak and I am strong. I am thankful to be a part of people who are praying for you and your family…..for Max and his purpose in this life. May G-d continue to bless him in ways beyond all understanding, may He use this experience for everything “Tov” (meaning everything good in G-d’s eyes) and may He continue to bless you richly in all your endeavors. Also, for Natalie especially, may our G-d grant you shalom in your heart and home, give you wisdom in abundance and continue to open your heart for others to love – just like you have obviously done with your family and your extended do-Terra family. I believe you both have changed many, many lives and will continue to do so.

  2. Hello,
My little brother received 3rd degree burns on 30 percent of his body about the same time your son did this year. I just wanted to let you know that our family is praying for you and I wanted to share this verse of encouragement. Also, your son is a very brave man and I have been so touched by his selfless attitude and joyful spirit through this difficult situation.
Romans 5: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
